See Sandy Counselling Services collects and uses your personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

WHO WE ARE

See Sandy Counselling Services is data controller in respect of personal information that we process in connection with our business. In this notice, references to “we”, “us” or “our” are references to See Sandy Counselling Services.

HOW YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED

See Sandy collects information from you through enquiry forms, registration forms, assessment forms and from information that you provide during your therapy sessions.

INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT

The personal information collected from you includes your contact details – name, address, email and telephone number and reasons for therapy sessions. We may also collect your Special Category Personal Information provided by you during your therapy sessions, this may include information relating to your health, sexual orientation, religious and/or philosophical beliefs or political opinions. Your personal information, including your special category personal information, is kept in password protected files.

HOW IS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION USED

We will use your personal information to:
• carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us and to provide you with the information and services that you request.
• communicate with you, including contacting you to organise therapy sessions, respond to queries, notify you about changes to our service.
• operate our business efficiently including financial records.

WHAT LEGAL BASIS DO WE RELY ON

The legal grounds for processing your personal information include:
Explicit Consent; Legitimate Interests; Legal Obligation, Vital Interests and Substantial Public Interest.

WHEN IS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SHARED

We will treat your personal information confidentially and will only share when necessary to provide our services or conduct our business operations. See Sandy may share your information with other professionals, such as your GP, with your knowledge.

HOW LONG IS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION KEPT

We will keep basic records and clinical notes for three years after the end of therapy, or when we last hear from you. Records will then be confidentially destroyed.

YOUR RIGHTS IN RELATION TO PERSONAL INFORMATION

You have the right to ask to see the information we hold about you; please ask your therapist for further details. You can ask us to change any information that we hold about you that is incorrect and you have the right to ask us to delete information that we hold about you.
